myBeamex 1.4.0 Release
Release Date: 14. February. 2025
New features
- Multi-Factor Authentication
Introduction
We are excited to introduce a new security feature for myBeamex: Multi-factor Authentication (MFA). Once enabled, this optional security enhancement requires users to provide a second verification step to gain access to their accounts, significantly reducing the risk of unauthorized access and enhancing the overall security of your organization's data.
Customer Benefits
The new MFA feature offers following benefits:
- Enhanced Security: MFA adds an extra layer of protection, making it much harder for malicious actors to gain access to your accounts, even if they have your password.
- Improved Compliance: Implementing MFA helps your organization meet various regulatory and compliance requirements related to data security and user authentication.
How It Works
Setting up and using MFA is straightforward:
- Enabling MFA: MFA is enabled through Organization settings and once enabled, users will be prompted to set up MFA during their next login. Users will need an authenticator app installed on their mobile device (see supported apps under Requirements section).
- First login for the users: After you have provided your credentials while logging in, follow the prompts to set up MFA, which includes scanning a QR code with your authenticator app. Complete the setup by providing the code from your authenticator app.
- Daily Usage: After setting up MFA, in addition to the normal user credentials, users will be required to provide an additional verification code from their authenticator app each time they log in to myBeamex.
Requirements
To use the new MFA feature, the following requirements must be met:
- Authenticator App: Users need to have a supported authenticator app installed on their mobile device. The functionality has been tested with following authenticator apps: Microsoft Authenticator, Google Authenticator. Other authenticator apps may work, but have not been tested.
Important information
For a smooth transition, it is important to inform your organization's users about the upcoming change in advance.
- MyBeamex Release notes are now part of LOGiCAL help documentation
Known issues
- The first login after enabling MFA must be done with a computer.
- For organizations, who have SSO integration and MFA enabled in their Active directory, enabling the MFA in myBeamex will enforce the users to provide an additional verification step during login.
